Dr. Barry Winton is a thoracic and cardiac surgeon affiliated with Largo Medical Center and Northside Hospital. He has been in practice for over 25 years. Dr. Winton received his medical degree in 1989 from Indiana University in Indianapolis, IN, and completed his general surgery training at Methodist Hospital of Indiana. He went on to complete a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery in 1996 at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI. Dr. Winton’s areas of expertise include adult cardiac surgery, non-cardiac thoracic surgery, and vascular surgery. He is well-versed in a wide range of cardiac surgery procedures and non-cardiac thoracoscopic surgery including video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS). Dr. Winton is a member of the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, Society of Thoracic Surgeons, American College of Surgeons, American Board of Surgery and the Western Society of Thoracic Surgery. He is board-certified in general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery. He is married to Stephanie, who is a pharmacist, and enjoys all kinds of physical exercise and outdoor activities.
